Duties
Incumbent performs skilled maintenance and repair work in the plumbing trades journeyman-level work in the installation, maintenance, inspection, modification, remodel and repair of mechanical plumbing equipment and fixtures for water such as piping systems, toilets, water heaters, showers, bathtubs and associated fixtures at the Embassy compound, residential properties and other properties. Incumbent is directly supervised by the Mechanical Foreman.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years as a journey-level plumber/fitter in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must know how to use the tools of the trade, and have limited knowledge of established trade practices and procedures.
Education Requirements:
Completion of secondary school is required.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:
English: Level II (Limited knowledge, speaking, reading and writing) is required. (This may be tested)
Arabic: Level III (Good working knowledge, speaking, reading and writing) is required. (This may be tested)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have a valid local driving license for light vehicle. (This may be tested)
- Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
- Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
- Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.
