The incumbent assists in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of the Mission’s Public Diplomacy Educational Advising programs.  This is a non-sensitive, full-time position.  incumbent provides a wide range of services for all sponsored and non-sponsored students seeking information about educational opportunities in the United States. Incumbent reports directly to the Public Affairs Officer (PAO).

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE:  : A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a multinational educational or cultural work environment, with education, communication, marketing and public outreach duties as significant parts of the job and familiarity with the U.S. education system is required. 

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Comprehensive knowledge about U.S. secondary and higher education system; thorough knowledge of U.S. undergraduate and graduate admissions processes and requirements, including financial aid and credential evaluation; knowledge about relevant information resources including education systems, testing, and U.S. laws and regulations governing international students; and informed perspectives on political, economic, and social trends in both Sudan and the United States.

Education Requirements:

University degree in education, American Studies, international relations, communications, or marketing is required.



English: Level IV (Fluency, speaking/reading/writing) is required.(This may be tested)

Arabic: Level IV (Fluency, speaking/reading/writing)s required. (This may be tested)


Superior interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills and excellent public speaking; must have sophisticated interviewing, counseling, problem solving, and analytical skills necessary to accurately assess a prospective student’s requirements and abilities to find appropriate educational opportunities for them; significant abilities include analytical ability, intellectual curiosity, initiative, and resourcefulness; must be able to plan and execute programs independently and able to plan ahead in year-long cycles; must be culturally sensitive and possess satisfactory computer (internet research), training, and management skills as essential to the position.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Sudan may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
