Main Purpose
•Supervise, organize and plan the activity of Data Entry officers to have a reliable record of medical activity performed, as well as identify their training/technical support needs in order to provide good service support and reliability of the data collected.
•Ensure collation and entry of all data identified by project managers for collection (e.g. morbidity, mortality, surveillance of diseases of epidemics, nutrition, psychological and women’s health, etc) into the appropriate data management system while ensuring the quality of data.
•Do quality control data officers’ performance on a regular basis
•Know and ensure proper use of software used for recording (i.e. Fuchia, Epi Info, etc.).
•Ensure accuracy of the medical data entered into the mission’s database on a regular basis, according to MSF protocols and carry out regular back-ups.
•Provide technical support to data entry officers/operators in project sites and give response to their training needs.
•Provide regular statistical reports for the medical team as well as informing the superior of any missing information, major changes or big differences in data.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
•Be in charge of all data activities of Sudan Emergency Team (SERT) interventions (e.g. Primary and Secondary services, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Nutrition, Mental Health, different outbreak interventions ,..etc) and provide training/technical support to the Medical supervisors in order to provide reliable and good quality data of services.
•Ensure quality of Data: checking data errors and ensure completeness of data of all provided services.
•Supporting having strong surveillance system in SERT, together with the Project Medial Referent and Medical Managers; to ensure timely collection of data for the surveillance from MSF projects, MoH, other health actors in interventions areas and from the community.
•With the support of the Medical Data Manager; conduct the required data analysis and the basic interpretation of data.
•Report systematically to the PMR any abnormal situation seen through Data analysis or the epidemiological surveillance
•To participate in some meetings (EoC, heath cluster meetings, nutrition cluster, etc…..) when requested by the PMR.
•Know and ensure proper use of software used for recording HIS, Epi info DHIS2,..etc.
•Be in charge of all medical forms, registry books and tally sheets of emergency interventions; ensure proper archiving and proper protection of privacy.
•Timely provision of reports and requested Data.
Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in public health, or other health-related fields. Or Bachelor in other Fields of study with more than 2 years of experience in Medical Data Activities.
Experience
• At least 2 Years of work experience in public health programs. Previous experience in Data activities and/or in surveillance is desirable.
•Desirable working experience with MSF or other NGOs.
Languages
• Mission working language and local languages essential.
Knowledge
• Essential knowledge of the use of computers including the processing of documents (Word, Excel).
•Desirable knowledge of medical statistics databases.
