 At WFP, we are looking for an experienced candidate/s to provide professional services in accommodation/ facility management, based in Khartoum, Sudan to be hired on a FTA for 12 months.

To support the delivery of quality, customer-focused, value for money administrative services that enable staff in country/location operations to deliver food assistance to beneficiaries, in line with WFP’s strategy.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive) 

Under the direct supervision of the Accommodation and Facilities Officer, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Providing technical support and services for the planning of ongoing projects or rehabilitation works, practice the best engineering application and the innovative technologies related that comply with WFP standards, policies and processes.
  • Supervise and Lead the Admin processes of establishing the new WFP offices in the field, including the closure & movement of the existed offices and all related processes as handing over the premises to Landlords, disposal of assets, offices layout, etc
  • Coordinate & represent the Admin on the missions related to the assessment of premises at the field offices. Respond to the requests from the field offices, supports with natures of facilities needs such as electricity connection maintenances/repairs, Generators, etc
  • Lead the facilities management team in the CO and timely respond to all the requests for maintenances and repairing works,
  • Closely follow-up with procurement unit about the procurement of required items for facilities unit including LTAs, contracts and agreements,
  • Liaise with Assets team and make sure all new/existing assets are recorded,
  • Ensure an appropriate allocation of office furniture is done, making periodic and preventive maintenance checks,
  • Ensure all premises are maintained clean, in good physical conditions, and provide a safe working.
  • Ensure photocopiers in CO are properly maintained and continuous work, and also respond to the requests from the AOs /FOs for photocopier machines and maintenance works required,
  • Supervise the maintenance of all office and work environments in the CO buildings and premises including office equipment’s.
  • Ensure air conditioners units receive proper preventive maintenance and repair works, when needed, are carried out in least time possible the ability to manage all activities from inception to completion utilizing standard tools and processes and best practice project management techniques.
  • Manage the offices and GHs generators in all the country, and make sure to order for new generators to be purchased.
  • Lead the electrical maintenance works in all WFP premises in the CO and Field offices including offices, GHs and WHs, and respond to all requests for electrical maintenances and upgrades.
  • Manage the UPS units SUDAN operation, order for the new units required and make sure maintenance services is provided,
  • Supervise the distribution of the PPEs to all AOs and FOs and make sure to liaise with procurement unit to order for PPEs,
  • Co-ordinating all elements of the maintenance projects including design, construction, supervision and any relevant client unit inputs.
  • Acting as the project focal point between WFP client units and the service providers / and others;  Providing input to the implementation and procurement strategy that best addresses the requirements of the WFP CO and the inherent constraints.
  • Ensuring that construction activities or work programs take account for all facility improvements adhere to local regulations and legislation.
  • Develop and maintain reports on units’ key performance indicators ensuring proper monitoring of these. Report to the Head of Unit, via structured meetings or other means with regards to any arising or ongoing technical, financial, contractual or programme issues at the project sites. Provide regular updates on progress.
  • Establishing standard comprehensive systems for construction and site records.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensuring that activities related to works adhere to internationally recognized standards for health and safety applicable for the works, for adjacent properties, for all site personnel, and the general public.
  • Notifying the Head of Unit of any serious breaches to health and safety rules on the Facility related works.
  • Reporting of all health & safety incidents, events, ‘near misses’ and accidents in periodic progress reports.
  • Other tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Unit.



 First level university degree or advanced university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related fields.


 At least two years of experience in Business/Public Administration, Engineering, or other relevant field relating to facility management or administration


 Fluency in English and Arabic.



  • Has gained experience in administration.
  •  Has demonstrated a high level of proficiency in WFP administrative operating standards in day-to-day work.
  •  Has provided coaching or training to new staff members within area of expertise.
