Main Purpose

Supervising the clinical activities and guaranteeing the quality of midwifery care in the department, according to MSF protocols, values and universal hygiene standards in order to provide a high-quality Mother and Child Health (MCH) care to the population

Accountabilitie

  • Supervising, supporting and evaluating the midwives, midwife assistants and other related staff in her team such as cleaners. Planning and organizing Maternity staff (monthly roster, attendance sheet absence, annual leaves) and coaching them following all appropriate protocols and procedures.
  • Ensuring team work and a professional relationship between maternity and other hospital departments working closely with departmental supervisors.
  • Supervising the medical activities in all the maternity department and activities such as ante-natal consultations, deliveries and after delivery, post-natal consultations, family planning consultations, new-born vaccinations and liaising with the Medical Doctor about the patients who need special care like obstetric and gynecological admissions, visiting hours, etc.
  • Ensuring that the staff on duty are trained on, implements and always follows the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control in the medical premises ensuring high standards of hygiene in the working environment.
  • Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained, cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols, reporting any malfunction to the project biomedical service.
  • Being responsible for the Maternity-related pharmacy activities (stock and consumption monitoring) as well as maintenance of the medical equipment and training of midwives on pharma-cy usage and ordering based on actual consumptions.
  • .Being responsible for ensuring that all the administrative procedures, patients’ registration and documents are filled in correctly and registered for compiling daily/weekly/monthly reports reflecting the activity in the SRH.
  • In Rokero Project, being responsible for ensuring that the maternity staff can identify, receive and provide care to the victims of the SGBV in collaboration with the Medical Doctor and following MSF protocols.
  • Ensuring and planning weekly or regular on job training for maternity staff and arranging maternity to attend other on job trainings in Rokero Hospital.
  • Ensuring proper patient follow up in maternity to provide high quality of care.

Requirements


Education

• Must have a Degree or Diploma of Midwifery with professional License.


Experience

• Minimum 2-year experience as Midwife and preferable as Supervisor


Languages

• Must be fluent in English and Arabic (Able to speak Fur Language is an advantage)


Knowledge

• Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
