Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of Chief Acquisition Management, the UN volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
- Ensure that Contractor and UN comply with their respective obligations under the Contract.
- Coordinate Vendor Performance Reports with Technical Units and UNGSC
- Review contract documents
- Assist in preparation of Statement of Work and technical evaluation parameters.
- Maintain files and databases of contracts.
- Arrange kick off and close out meetings for major contracts
- Coordinate with Finance and Procurement Sections on contractual matters, disputes, invoice processing, KPIs.
- Able to manage Contracts related to Goods and Services, such as Fuel, Rations, Aviation, Movcon, PX, Catering, IT Staffing, Engineering, Security, etc.. and related matters of Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
- Draft audit responses within deadlines.
- Draft contract close-out reports.
- Draft letters relating to Contract Disputes to enable resolution of issues.
- Coordinate with Procurement Section in the contract’s solicitation process
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent
Education – Additional Comments:
- Post Graduate (Masters degree) in any discipline
- Minimum 5 years professional experience, with at least 2 years in the Contract Management field.
- Experience with NGOs / international experience is preferred.
- Fluent in English
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge in Supply chain Management is desirable

Contract managers need legal knowledge to accurately lead the contract management process. Not all companies have set contract managers, but major defense firms or companies that frequently work with the government tend to use contract managers
